Hello everyone!

My name is Stephen Turner and as the title says, I live in Jacksonville, NC. This is my first post on the Forum although I am frequently on just reading posts from others and browsing the different areas of the site.

I am currently in the military and investing part time. I started my company Simple Choice Home Solutions and plan to go full time in a year and a half when my time in the service ends. I am originally from the Houston, TX area and plan to move back there when I get out.

I have recently just purchased and renovated my first deal which is a 2BR/2.5BA Condo here in Jacksonville. It was a great learning experience for me and luckily it was mostly cosmetic work, so a good entry into the flipping scene I think.

The only issue I am seeing in such a big military town is the amount of inventory on the market and how long property is staying on the market. For a new investor like myself, I am still learning while trying to get out there and just do it. I have spent a lot of money on different guru's and programs only to realize that I wasn't making any return and something had to change. Now with my first deal done (Well, just waiting for it to sell now); I am hunting for my second deal, but would love any and all insight for some ways to compete with mass amounts of inventory and new construction.

I look forward to meeting with as many people as possible and am a member of the Jacksonville and Wilmington Real Estate Investors groups and am always trying to network and learn!
