Young investor just getting started

Hello BP, I am a 19 year old in the Austin, TX area. I have been interested in real estate and reaching FIRE for a few years now. My first focus after graduating High School was to find a way to quickly increase my income in a 9-5 to fund my real estate investing; I have recently gotten to a comfortable spot with my 9-5 as a bar tender. I love my current job and don't look to actually retire at any point but still love the idea of being able to choose a job based on how much I enjoy it because I have a real estate portfolio funding my life style.

I am currently looking at finding leads. I have decided to build a portfolio of rental properties to start with and am looking in the Austin area for those deals.

I've loved the resources I have seen from BP and can't wait to dive into the community and vast numbers of resources available here.

@Zander Deckinga have you gotten started househacking here yet? It's a great way to accumulate rental properties and reduce your expenses! It's also a great way to buy rentals for very low down payments.

Absolutely, I plan on using house hacking to get started building this portfolio. Planning to buy my first unit this year and move to a new house hack every year after as my main way of building up multiple properties.
