Newbie investor in the Bay Area

Hi everyone, I'm new to BP and investing, but am super excited to dive in and start investing this year! I'm located in the Bay Area and am interested in investing in either short- or long-term rentals in the Bay Area (looking mainly in the East Bay as it seems to be growing) -- or possibly looking into out of state investments, as cost of entry is much lower. I'm also interested in flipping homes if I can find a good deal.  Would love to meet other investors in the Bay Area -- or investors who've done out-of-state investments who can share some advice or guidance on how to get started in this crazy market.  Thanks all!
