Advice For A Teenager

Spencer Reckles
Posted

Let me introduce myself...

My name is Spencer, I'm a Sophomore in High School who has a desire to earn money through Real Estate. I've had surface level intro into Real Estate, both through research and through real life experience. One of my Aunts Long term Ex-Boyfriends was a very successful Real Estate Investor in my area and every now an then he would take me and show me some of his new and upcoming properties. I am however looking for a way to learn more about the real estate market as my goal in life is to become financially free by mid 20s... I have been in the stock market since I was 13 and have been working for nearly 6 months. I put about 70% of the money I make from work into a savings account invested in the VOO S&P 500 Mutual Fund.

I am hoping to find advice that will help me skip past mistakes made by more experienced investors when they were first starting out. Now I have a question for anyone reading this:

If there was one thing that you wish you could go back and tell yourself and/or do as a teenager, what would it be?

Thank you for your time.

Hey @Spencer Reckles that's good you are getting into this field so early, so did I! Read the top books from Brandon Turner about investing, multi family, property management and other topics. They provide a large array of value and will set you up to start asking the right questions to learn even more.
