New member from Northwest Iowa

Hi everyone! My name is Deon Wynia, I'm from Northwest Iowa (real close to South Dakota) and I'm new to BiggerPockets. My wife and I have 8 children ages 3-20 so lots of activity (even as I am writing this I had one get up to go to the bathroom while he was still sleeping, made it to the bathroom but wasn't able to figure out, while sleeping, what to do so I just cleaned up a little accident :-). I am wanting to develop passive streams of income that will allow me to work part time (a job I love) and spend more time with my family as they grow. Also want to travel with them and develop shared interests and hobbies. I have owned investment properties in the past and was out of it for 10 years (after a move and bad experience with a tenant). This year I started getting back into it and have bought a commercial property and a single family unit that needed rehab. I am looking for some wisdom/advice and would be open to other opportunities that may arise. My goal is to accomplish this in the next 3-5 years. I am excited to meet others with the same goals and interests.

Welcome Deon. I can't give much in the wisdom department, but just connecting on BP has been so encouraging for me. I've been with BP for only a few weeks, and I'm BLOWN AWAY by the knowledge, wisdom & encouragement I get every day from my BP family. Read forums, ask questions, listen to podcasts & interact. That was the advice I received & I'm doing just that. You have defiantly come to the right place!! WELCOME!!!:)
