New to investing & my big 'why'

Hello!

My name is Sean Jackson & I am new to investment. People typically have their reasons why they want to take the leap into investing in real estate, for me my story isn't really unique - but it is the prime mover behind why I am doing it!

A little background on me - I am currently a licensed agent in Connecticut, by my role at the brokerage is Director of Strategic Growth - meaning my job is to source & hire agents. I've done well with my endeavor, ranking #7 internationally for CENTURY 21 for hiring, bringing on a grand total of 76 agents in my first year (woohoo!).

Something that is important to me is consistency & finding easier ways to do things. I've always been entrepreneurial, and I've done my best to accel at anything I try. I am first generation college, and my father and mother sacrificed a lot to make that the case.

This leads me to my why:
1) First and foremost I know that I can systematize my success. I want to dig into something that I can take full ownership of & I don't want to look back on my life and say to myself: what if I did this myself?

2) I work at a high volume brokerage as management, but I'm not benefiting like a broker. I see successful agents making $700k a year, I see the broker taking splits based off of my efforts with recruiting, and candidly what I get in return is not sufficient...

3) I want to be able to help my family. My parents are blue collar and have a specific way of thinking about money. I want to break the cycle and in the process let them live out their golden years doing the things that matter to them. Between the pandemic, layoffs, etc. life has been hard... I want the opportunity to help.

4) I want to reclaim my time to focus on my passions. I like brewing beer, I like going hiking and camping, and I like spending time doing the things I care about.

All of these things are part of the journey. I had a moment of clarity recently, like a fog dissipated or a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I found myself asking myself "What the hell am I doing?" and recognized that a 9-5, $50k job is not the grind I want to focus on.

What I am looking to achieve by investing in a pro membership is the following:

1) Network with people who understand my plight, and can help me navigate from being someone with 660 credit & $13k in the bank account into someone who can replace their income with real estate (especially in this very, very interesting market)

2) Help me understand how to be an effective landlord, and how to eventually leverage that.

3) Open my eyes to different methods of investing

Thank you all for taking the time to read this & I look forward to networking more! If you have any questions feel free to reply here, or DM me if you'd like to connect another way.

Best,

Sean Jackson

the way to change your station in your career is to start making commissions and once your making 700k a year then you can invest in real estate if you want to or bitcoin or the stock market or whatever.. but you need the big income first and foremost.
