Hello everyone,

I just passed my real estate license exam and in a process of looking for a sponsoring broker in Orange County, CA area. I would like to know if I should be going for large brand name or small boutique brokerage? Also should I join a team or go solo? So far I only went on 1 interview with a team in KW.

Thank you so much for your help.

Thu Nguyen great question and here is my answer. You are a new agent and should not focus on commissions, teams, solo, etc. Your focus should be the following:

1. Need someone to mentor you in what you want to learn. Traditional RE, working with investors, working with new buyers, holding a proper open house. Take your pick.
2. If you need an office the get one as close to home as possible. 95% of successful agents work out of their homes, Starbucks, or on their phones. If you need the extra support of an office I understand.
3. Commissions should be the last thing you should be worried about when looking for an office.
Hope this helps and good luck on your search.
