Bankruptcy Affects Tax Deed?

Posted

Using @DeniseEvans' absolutely indispensable book, I've learned to search for bankruptcies when doing due diligence.

Alas, I've found one.  I have a quote for a deed that was sold to the state in 2013 (2016 deed).  March 30 of that year, the taxpayer filed for Chapter 7 - the case was closed and the trustee discharged in July 2013.

Most of the court documents are above my pay grade, but it does appear his eligible debts (which appears to be most of them) were discharged, except for re-affirming a car loan.

How do I determine if that bankruptcy presents a problem as an investor?
