Alabama Tax Lien Question
When searching the state inventory in Alabama, I often find parcels that are assessed as land only, but clearly have buildings on them. If one buys a certificate or deed on these parcels, can their being incorrectly assessed cause a problem for the investor down the line? Will the state void the tax sale, or is the cert or deed "faulty" in some way?

If they have structures but were incorrectly assessed as land only, then the taxes were too low. They will not void out that tax sale. If they were assessed with structures but that was incorrect, then the taxes will have been too high. Upon request, they will often void out that tax sale.
