Damage Protection in VRBO? Do you use it?

Pam Smith
Posted

Hi all-

When creating my listing on VRBO I noticed that you can have guests pay up to $99/stay for up to $5000 in damage protection. I believe it's through a 3rd party insurance carrier. Does anybody use this for guests? If so, have you had to file a claim and how was the process and end result? If not, do you do anything else, outside of a security deposit and STR insurance, for damage protection?

Thanks!

I use Evolve. I've used their insurance policy 3x times. It's gotten me: New couch, New Bed, and new porch chairs. Not sure how easy the claim process is thru VRBO though. I've really like it because it's really distressing when your place gets beat up by guests and it gives you that "Everything is going to be okay" peace of mind. This is just my experience.
