Income difference between Chalet and Cabin in Servierville area

William Eric

Hello BP,

Do any of you have experience with owning Chalets as STR in comparison to Cabins? I hear in general the suggestion is to buy a cabin because that's "what people go there for", is there a significant challenge getting Chalets rented?

Any insight is appreciated.

They're basically the same thing. There's one particular area called "chalet village" that has them. If you're asking because a "chalet" just popped up and you're unsure that's what you want but you think it's kinda cute then just wait a week for the right cabin and be ready to be extremely aggressive with your offer in this market. If you're asking strictly for cash flow purposes then no worries just let it rip.
