I'm wondering if there is a platform out there for handling payment and reservation outside of Airbnb or vacation rental by owner.

HOUFY.COM...it is free for guests and hosts. Upload you listing from vrbo or abnb and sync calendars if you want. Guests can book and make a credit card payment through Square or Stripe on the site. (Or you can accept payment anyway you want.) Houfy does not advertise so you have to promote yourself through social media or steer previous guests to book with you directly and save the OTA fees. It is a substitute for having your own website. You can also upload any reviews you receive from the other sites to your Houfy listing. Here is my link if you want to take a look www.houfy.com/l/villagershomestyle
