How many of your renters have passed away while a tenant?

For me, 5.  3 were long term renters and 2 were short term.  I converted the vacant long terms into short terms.

5 out of 1800 people over the course of 8 years.  For you actuarians, are those numbers in line with the mortality tables in the U.S.?

Which one? The suicides were overdoses, very clean. The natural causes were all clean. My most recent was a hoarder with 30 weapons, hundreds of knives, stockpiles of survival food, rooms full of camo and camping gear, etc. He was prepared to survive the apocalypse but failed to take care of his health and died at 62.

The bloody one was ironic. She had drop head syndrome and couldn't see anything above chest level. She was unable to work or socialize so her 16-year-old cat was her life. I got a call from her nurse that she wasn't answering the door, so I went over and let them in. She had apparently walked into the kitchen and fell, hitting her head on a case of canned cat food sitting on the floor. She managed to drag herself around the apartment and eventually bled to death. It looked like a murder scene with bloody handprints and smears on the walls and furniture, blood all over the apartment. It had to be gutted.
