Good idea to purchase vacation condo next to one we already own?

I own a 3 bed/2 bath condo in Myrtle Beach and I’m using it as a vacation rental and it is doing very well. The unit next to me has recently gone on the market and it is laid out exactly the same and priced similarly to mine. I obviously know the positives of mine but what are your thoughts of owning 2 pretty identical units side by side?

Why not?  You know what works there, easy for you, easy for everyone; in that kind of market it makes sense.  Also, if you wanted you could even create a listing with the side-by-side condos and larger groups could book them together.  I know my family's loved having options like that on ski trips.
