Airbnb has not compensated me for deleting my booking
Hi All,
I do Airbnb on my apartment in Newyork where I live in. The Airbnb is legal in the sense that I always set the minimum booking for 30 days and I live there.
Fact 1: September 2019 I had a guest book for 2 months from Feb 2020 to end of March.
December 2019, my neighbor has got a raid from the city for illegal STR since their bookings are less than 30 days. Jan 2020, my neighbor called Airbnb to cancel all their future bookings (which are less than 30 days).
Fact 2: Somehow the guy from Airbnb accidentally canceled the booking on my unit too (from fact 1). He admitted that mistake and contacted me to tell me that he would call the guest to re-book the same on my unit. However, the guest saw the cancellation from Airbnb so they immediately booked somewhere else.
Since then, my unit has been vacant and there is no booking. I contacted the guy from Airbnb who cancelled my booking accidentally but he just disappeared and didn’t respond to me any more.
Apparently it is his mistake and he has to pay for the cost of my revenue loss.
What should I do now? I have been calling Airbnb many times but they have never given me any solution.
Please help if any of you have experienced this before.
Thanks a ton.

It's a business transaction. One party ends up wiser, the other party ends up richer.
It's like the story of papa bull and son bull. They were on a hill and saw a herd of cows down in the valley. Son bull said "Let's RUN down there and get romantic with a cow". Papa bull said "Son, lets WALK down there and get romantic with ALL the cows." You need to walk, not run.
