Booking "off platform" agreement/deposit

David VanWert
Posted

Does anyone ever book "off platform" from VRBO and AirBnB? We have a STR in a ski town and are apart of a Facebook group for that ski mountain and have been asked quite a few times about booking direct. It would save the AirBnB fees for the guests. Does anyone else do this? if so do you request a deposit and/or have an agreement that you have them sign? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

@David VanWert People that hang out on Facebook groups are all about booking direct and having a website to do so. They are also not winners. As the old saying goes don’t swim with the ducks if you want to fly with the eagles. Well.... eagles don’t have time for Facebook.

My time is better spent acquiring new properties than trying to save 3% on the ones I already own.
