Short Term Rental Resorts/Developments

Hello, My wife and I are looking to buy a 2 - 3 bedroom condo/townhouse for STR near Disney. We are mostly looking in Kissimmee. I'm seeing entire resorts/developments that are apparently dedicated only to STR units. Can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of purchasing in such an area?

Thank you,

John

@Paul Sandhu, I'm sorry you've had such a bad run with realtors, but I assure you that I don't work for the seller when I'm working with my buyer.  I recently negotiated a Triplex for my sellers from $220K to $125K -- not something the seller was happy about.

I would further disagree with you that you need to be a specialist in all areas to be a STR investor. I gladly pay a plumber, electrician, and carpenter to do work for me, and I'll pay a realtor in out of state deals for work as well. I'd rather spend my time working ON my business rather than IN my business.

To each their own, though.  You've obviously achieved success with your method, but I assure you that success can be achieved by leveraging other people's time and money.
