The Importance of Trust When Purchasing Vacation Rentals
Have you ever worked with someone who was more interested in their paycheck than sparking joy Mari-Kondo style? (And in your wallet) Unfortunately, I think we all have by this point... I was considering this when I woke up today, why do we put up with people who dont help us excel? Is it a fear of losing out on connections (FOMO) or an actual need for that person? Considering how closely this plays a role in property investing (Working with Contractors, Realtors, Property Managers & Mortage Brokers) has me wondering why we don't spend more time digging for someone we can truly trust.
Trust is the foundation of our lives, we trust that our food will be cooked when we go to eat it, that our homes will be there when we get back and that others are not actively trying to harm us. We trust co-workers, those we have employed, or independent contractors to do the job we have hired them for. We are able to check the work that they have done, but real-estate investing can be tricky - you can't check until you've closed the deal.
This is a snip bit from Why Realtors Lie: "Mostly they lie about themselves if you're lucky. Real estate agents often misrepresent their experience and credentials on their websites and/or blogs. Some spend inordinate amounts of time posting online to obtain maximum search engine exposure. Others pay for commercial rights and buy ads to rank above search results in Google and Yahoo. Agents expend this effort and expense to get you to click on their site" Unfortunately, begavior like this is rampant in the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Wears Valley..
Having the security of trust will be just another stepping stone to financial freedom and the growth of your empire! Please check out these links for some more info on trust in business :)

What do you do to vet people before you work with them? Do you go off references or online reviews?

Several of my STRs have a sign in them. It says:
In God
we trust.
All others
pay rent
in advance.
