Whine! Whine! Whine!

I follow about 5 short term and bed and breakfast forums. Although I learn quite a bit, the pervasive tone is often a victim mentality and a stunning lack of respect for supply and demand.

Do you know what Airbnb / VRBO did to me this time?

This often involves blaming the listing site for the action of a guest. Not supporting me, not taking my word over the guest, expecting the listing site to make my experience problem-free, stupid International customer support rep, why aren't they omniscient?

Is short term rental a simple, guaranteed, fast way to amazing wealth?

Why is there so many hosts in my area when I was here first? How fast can I scale up? Is there an easy way or the perfect place to do it remotely even though I have no experience and no clue ? Do I have to know what I'm doing? Can someone on the Forum advise me so I don't need to pay a CPA or attorney? Can you solve my problem? Can you tell me everything I need to know in 30 minutes so I don't have to read books or ask questions or read the other posts in the form?

After 300 great guests, I got a bad one!

They did $50 worth of damage, how can I get my money from Airbnb? How come somebody left me a 4-star review and what is wrong with them? How come guests don't understand my 20 pages of rules and grovel before me? This is my house, why don't they check in and behave and not understand they're lucky to be here? How do I guarantee to never get a bad guest?

@Ken Latchers My local market has a Facebook group and I find it excruciating. People obsessing over numbers and complaining about every detail when they should be obsessing over analyzing the next property. But the people you’re referring to don’t have it in them to be successful. And it’s because of the obsessing and the complaining.

Read more books complain less. Amen Ken!
