Many of you in the Smokies have your properties insured with Mike and/or Southpoint Risk.  I just received word that Mike died last evening after a battle with cancer.

Mike was such a good man and had become a friend to me over the years. He was always honest and professional. I talked to him about 6 weeks ago; he had relocated to Nashville to live with his son while he took treatments at Vanderbilt. He wasn't able to write new business but was doing a fine job taking care of his current customers. He was also really enjoying being there in Nashville with his son and grandkids.  He was not afraid of dying. He had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and was certain of his destination.

The biggest reward of owning and managing vacation rentals is much greater than financial; the friendships I have made with people around the country are priceless.

Hats off to you, Mike, for a life well lived.
