Licenses Needed to Operate Short Term Rental Management Company in Wisconsin

Hello Everyone!

I currently own 2 of my own Short Term Rentals and self-manage. I have had other friends ask if I would manage their short term rentals and would like to start a small management company focused on short term rentals only, in Wisconsin. Does anyone know if a brokerage license is needed or any other type of business license to run a short term rental management company in Wisconsin? Any feedback or insight would be appreciated, thank you!

I think so, but the statues were written before STR became a thing and are a little ambigous.

"If a property manager is going to negotiate, or offer to negotiate the rental of an interest in real estate, or promote the rental or leasing of real estate, he or she will need a broker's license. A salesperson working under a broker may engage in such activities."

You can call the WRA hotline. And Madison has always some extra legislation, so you want to research that too.
