Looking to invest in a property for short term rental and exploring areas. How is the STR market in Camano Islands? I read somewhere that its seasonal. Are winters completely down?

Hey @Account Closed, Camano Island is a pretty specialized area. I have spent quite a bit of time there looking around as well as get all listings from a Realtor.com feed to see what pops up.

We were considering moving there after my wife retires.

Things are pretty tight when it comes to profit. The places we have looked at that would cash flow are just plain weird. One place had a cool upstairs, huge deck, 1 block off the beach with a great view. Downstairs had under 7ft ceiling height. Price was 600k for it as a 3/2 1100sqft.

So, if you are looking for a place that has decent visitation and potential, I would look down in Ocean Shores etc.

I agree with @Michael Baum. Looks for vacation destination like Ocean Shore or a unique property: on the water, fantastic view, close to activities ect.
