Interesting STR Booking , guest wants ONLY to pay by check

This is a  first one for me,  guest inquiring wants to stay for 21 days , states for Vacation( for Two people: Him & spouse ).  However states His company will be paying for vacation and as such  can ONLY pay by sending company check or certified check.

sounds interesting /something  not quite right , but like I said this is a first one . Anyone with similar experience , seems trying to avoid  the OTA screening process. Do just try to max the stay at 14 days .

Most likely a scam. I play along and tell them to send me the check 30 days before their stay to make sure check clears.

If they insist on sending day before I still like to play along and waste their time.

They will want to pay more than owed and have you send them the extra before check clears. I have them waste the effort on making a fake check and the 2 day postage, then I keep saying I haven't made it to the bank yet. Makes them mad.

I make them lose time and money and I find it entertaining!
