Tips on buying first short term rental

Posted

Hello all, I am in pursuit of an investment property I can make into a short term rental. However, I am not sure where to start. I wanted to ask you all for some advice on getting started looking for a market for STR's and doing the research to analyze certain properties in the market I choose. What is a minimum cap rate to shoot for? How much work does it take to manage a STR your own? Thank you in advance!

Hey @Serge DuLaudAllemans, I would start reading this forum. Just read everything you can and you will find a ton of info for you to digest.

 Good advice.

And as Leslie said I am looking more for COC and cash flow on a vacation rental instead of a CAP rate.
