Selling meals to those who rent vacation homes and short term?

Tara Brandner
Posted

We live in a rural town that attracts a lot of groups who fish and hunt. The need has been brought forward that they would like "home cooked meals" and my mother happens to love cooking. The thought was to have it pre-cooked/ frozen/ already prepared to avoid the bed and breakfast route. Has anyone offered this or something similar? If my mother offered this separately, would you advertise it in your rental post? Thank you!

@Tara Brandner not sure if you care but this would open you up to self employment taxes on your full net income by providing these! This would cross the substantial services threshold in the tax code
