Is anyone doing STR in Palm Bay Florida?
Hello everyone! I have been searching the forums to find information on STR's on the space coast of Florida, specifically Palm Bay, but have not been able to find much info. Is anybody doing this? I am in the process of reading through Avery Carls book on the subject, and was just looking to see if anybody was doing this in Palm Bay and what experiences and thoughts they might have?
Thank you!

@Kelly Dornink, I have been doing short term rentals since 2019, so am still learning the ropes, so to speak. Before we started, I called each municipality at their town hall and asked if they were allowed in their statues or code. I got licensed at the State, pay locality fee of $500 per house, county tax and state tax.
Indialantic mayor says he wants people to report to him if one is discovered, so he can shut it down. E of A1A is fine, unless a condo or HOA prevent. And if you have a room or an granny flat situation (ADU) that seems to be OK.
Indian Harbour Beach is a yes, with lots of hoops to jump through.
West Melbourne requires 30 day minimum.
For your consideration…A lot of my bookings are weekend drivers from the other coast. Some are in town for a sports event, or college. These are last minute visitors who fill in the holes on my calendar. I stopped doing one night stays, due to parties and damage to the houses.
My winter guests are (no surprise) snowbirds. I have four months booked at the pool house this year (same couple stayed last year), and the 3 bed is booked a month at a time right now, January through to April, where last year I had a 3 month guest.
