For the FIRST TIME EVER, we'll be gathering hundreds of real estate investors and real estate experts in the City of Brotherly Love for a weekend of learning, networking, and community all in the name of Real Estate! This a NO PITCH Event, so don't expect any sales pitches from the stage. Just good ol' fashion sharing, teaching, and connecting between like-minded individuals from all over.
This is NOT a Bigger Pockets event. But...if you're on BP, you'll definitely recognize some people.
Consider this a meeting of minds. I'm doing my best to bring my 30+ years of experience and networking to one event and build a community of investors on the East Coast (with some help from friends & experts nationwide). We plan to have over 20 speakers, panelists, and breakout session leaders including:

@Jim Peret to call it a seminar would be a severe understatement (especially just a good one). Most of it was not about notes. It cut through a hefty variety of real estate and an endless supply of amazing speakers from @Dawn Anastasi on being a landlord in low income areas to Al Williamson on being a "landlord scientist". There was a treasure trove of information offered by the speakers, but to me that was the least impactful part of the entire event.
What I'll remember most about the event was having lunch with The CashFlow Chick, Paige Panzarello followed by lunch the next day with @Tracy Z. Rewey (it was great to finally meet you and awesome job moderating the impromptu lunch Note Table!). I'll remember finally getting to speak to Fuquan Bilal and him taking the time to speak to me at length about what I'm up to and where he's at with his investing. I'll remember the "@J Scott Checkup" (he never just shakes your hand, he tries to find someway to help you and give you some advice in the time he has). I'll remember dinner with @Darren Sager, maybe the most modest generous person you'll ever meet (he seriously bought pizza for the whole BP staff from across the country before) and @J. Martin. J Freaking Martin! I'll remember catching up with old friends (@David Weintraub, @James Masotti, @Adam Cherko) and making some new ones (Teresa Ludlow, @Joe Tomko, @Ethan Giller). I'll remember hearing the story of a tired train operator who was sick of being jerked around at his job and looking for a way out during lunch at Geno's and the opportunity to try to provide some advice with Justin Fraser. I'll remember the amazing advice and time offered to me by John Sweeney and Jack Shea. There were so many high profile speakers and no one would've blamed them had they just shown up, given a talk and left, but the vast majority were avaialble and accessible for the Meet and Greet, the breaks between talks, the cocktail hour and the reception all throughout the weekend.
Even MORE than that I'll remember a nervous @Dave Van Horn pitching a charity auction for an amazing cause (Project HOME) thinking he might raise a couple grand and through the efforts of some amazing people raising close to 50 grand. From @Brie Schmidt offering tickets to her event, The Midwest Real Estate Networking Summit, to Steve Lloyd and @Carl Fischer offering a weekend fishing trip with them, Matt Faircloth raising $4600 in 5 minutes by offering a weekend (with hotel and airfare included) to his new apartment project, to @Brian Adams offering 5 grand and another matching 5 for anyone else who donates (seriously how cool is THAT guy?).
Bust most of all, I'll remember my highlight of the entire weekend: I went to see @Engelo Rumora the first week of January last year (who by the way was kind enough to offer a new flipper some words of advice) for my verty first real estate meeting and unexpectedly seeing that @Matt Faircloth (remember that guy above who raised $4600 just for his time?) was in attendance. Already a luminary popular enough to attract a crowd, he briefly took the time to offer me, a nobody in real estate, a few words when he was able to break away from the pack to grab some water. Three days ago, while I was talking to an investor and Matt was on his way out he walked up to me and said "Odie! You're the guy who's always tagging us (I briefly thought he was about to punch me in the face)! Thanks, I appreciate that!" A lot has happened in my life between those two points in time and that was an emotional moment for me that I'll never forget. That said, his wife, @Liz Faircloth, just launched The Real Estate InvestHER Podcast and I encourage all of you to go give it a listen.
But if you missed it, all is not lost. As I mentioned above, Brie's Midwest Real Estate Networking Summit is coming up soon. If it's anything like the show Dave put on for sure it's worth every penny and more. Thanks Dave!
