If the word "Cannabis" makes you think of Cheech and Chong, forgetful stoners and plants crammed in dusty attics; think again!
August's 31st's speakers are experienced cannabis real estate investors and syndicators, Leslie Plettner & Cabral Bonner from Kimba Home. Their presentation dives deep into Federal, State and local trends that drive value in the cannabis real estate market.
So, if you are still wondering what exactly cannabis real estate is, if it is even legal, if you want to find out how you can you get in at the ground level of this exponentially expanding, multi-billion dollar industry, you should reserve your seat now!
NOTE: First 100 RSVP's that show are eligible to win a complementary ticket for the 2 day Bay Area Real Estate Summit. See bottom for details.
Have you ever wished you could have sold shovels, picks and mining supplies during the 1849 gold rush? You might get that chance now! The California legal cannabis industry is expected to grow from less than a billion dollars in 2016 to more than $6.5 billion by 2020. This rapidly expanding industry has significant real estate needs, and not a lot of cannabis friendly landlords.
This is not your grandpa's growing operation...
How does high demand and restrictive supply impact purchase price? Leslie and Cabral will also explore both the perceived and actual real estate risks, zoning restrictions, bank financing, the legal landscape, and the impact of Prop 64.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn about a high growth market with significant real estate needs. We’ll see you on August 31st!

Early in his career, Cabral also worked in schools before getting a law degree from Stanford.
Once starting their respective families 10 years ago, they craved the flexibility and wealth generation that real estate offered. They attended more than a dozen real estate, tax and and asset protection, and marketing courses, and in 2009 co-founded Kimba Home—a value-based mission driven real estate investment company committed to providing high returns to capital investors while expanding financial literacy for urban youth.
Cabral Bonner - Lawyer, Co-founder Kimba Home
Leslie and Cabral purchased their first investment property (a duplex) in 2010 for $155,000 and spent $65,000 in renovations. The property appraised for $795,000 in June of 2016, and cashflows more than $2,000 a month.
Since then, Kimba Home has amassed significant capital from short term development projects and expanded its portfolio to include a mix of warehouses, multi-family, and retail. Their portfolio includes 12 properties totaling 246 units across every region in the United States (some properties have shared ownership). Kimba Home consistently delivers 20+% annualized returns on its investments.
In June of 2015 Leslie saw an opportunity to serve the real estate needs for the cannabis industry. She anticipated market expansion through the passing of Prop 64 and knew the discrimination the industry faced would create a niche for the savvy real estate investor. Leslie and her business partner, Cabral Bonner, have supported cannabis operators to obtain both real estate and local licenses, with a particular focus in San Francisco and Richmond.
Through speaking engagements, Leslie and Cabral now support real estate investors, appraisers, and lenders to understand investment opportunities in the cannabis industry. Engagements this year include speaking at the Arcview Investor Forum and the closing session of the NorCal Appraisal Institute, which is the largest chapter in the United States. Cabral and Leslie reside in Oakland, CA with their respective families. Learn more about their company by visiting www.kimbahome.com.
