Redwood or vinyl fence?

The current wood fence between my rental and the neighbor has fallen over. I think it was the original one, so about 30yrs old (southern CA). Do you all prefer vinyl or redwood as replacement for durability and maintenance? The other walls of my property are block walls. The difference in cost between the two materials is $1,200. thanks.
