Tenant stopped paying after Hurricane IDA
One of my tenants living in the basement units stopped paying after Ida quoting her mattress and some other stuff was damaged. I was at the unit next day and nothing major, really. I mean people have lost lives in NJ due to Ida. Since then she didn't pay September, October and the utilities. She seems to be blaming her post partum depression, non responsive FEMA, etc. Anything I can do at this point to recover rent?

@Anjali L. if the house is habitable there is no issue. If it is not habitable, damaged beyond ability to live there my lease cancels. Look at your lease. Her possessions are her problem, she should have rental insurance. I would proceed to eviction for non-payment serving all the required notices.
