Real Estate Investor Mentors

I am new to the industry and I have been doing a lot of research and studying. I am looking for the right mentor, to show me what the industry looks like working in it and being successful at what they do. What would you consider to finding an mentor? I am going to a real estate investor convention that Tyler Deveraux will be hosting…I thought that would be a great step to start to get connected with individuals. I wanted to just join a few conventions to get to know investors. How would you go about asking for that type of service? Or would you just speak on being new and just allow it to naturally flow?

@Jona Wells One thing you might want to think about, is what do you bring to the table, in a mentoring relationship? You should offer some tangible value or benefit to the person.

In many cases, it’s money. Maybe you are paying for it, thats your skin in the game. Of course it may be another value you bring, like doing things for the mentor, like an intern, or finding them a great deal that benefits them greatly.

Most mentorships are not one sided or there for the grabbing/asking. You might want to think about what makes you stand out from the crowd?

What have you done to invest in yourself, in your journey?

Good luck.

Best,

Sean
