Pro Rated rent @ closing

Today I had closed on a duplex, signed all the necessary papers and after I had left I realized that I had not received the rent checks or the security deposit from the seller. I had called my agent, he reached out to the sellers agent both seller and sellers agent said " its only 5 days rent you should have said something @ closing were not worried about it"...  seller also said he had given the tenets back their deposits...would anyone have any advice for me?

I am not going to go broke on the $200 for the rent that's owed to me for those days.. Its mainly the principle that they are acting the way they are.

Hey @Justin Reader, this should have all been taken care of at closing by your title company or lawyer.  They would be on the hook for anything.  However, you should not need to ask for these items.  That was not their money and they stole it from you.  Besides going to your title company, you can take them to small claims court.  Hopefully just starting the process will get them to pay you.
