The American Rescue Plan Act (Eviction Moratoriums)

No mention of extending the CDC Eviction Moratorium past 3/31/21 in the Senate ratified American Rescue Plan Act on 3/6/21. Only financial subsidies for struggling renters.

I am optimistically subdued. Cross your fingers. Along with the Texas victory finding the moratoriums unconstitutional and “declining rates of infection”, This looks to be ending soon.

I’m hopeful tx was a start and at least on the national end the moratorium is dying off.  I still think it may exist on a state level in states like ca and ny where the laws are more tenant friendly but at least it isn’t as sweeping to states where landlords have more freedom.  I think the amount of renters who are behind is overstated but once the cases start flowing I see a large backlog and a wave of evictions.  This is going to look bad when news reports come in so I hope they don’t reverse course.  My advice is to file as soon as possible  and get them out before the politicians change their mind again.
