Eviction Moratoriums (Hesitant to raise rents now)
How many landlords in Class C & D properties are apprehensive about raising rents and/or not renewing leases for fear that it might anger a potentially Covid moratorium emboldened tenant.
Non-renewal of leases was one of the few powers landlords had in removing a tenant. And raising rents was expected. You never KNOW how a tenant will react with a 30 or 60 day notice. In my 20 years landlording, it’s never been pretty.
Any other class C & D landlords in a 6 month fetal position praying the proposed and probable September 30, 2021 moratorium end date is the FINAL end date or are you operating business as usual?
