Question regarding Criminal Background Check

I have potential tenants whose background check resulted in 4 criminal/traffic records. I talked to them regarding the records and they said they are traffic tickets.  The exact wording on the report is Activity Type: Criminal/Traffic. I also have the case number, status code ID and county. Does anyone know first, if a speeding ticket would appear in the Mysmartmove criminal results, and second, how can I verify the information using the case number? Based on online research, I would have to go to the county and request the record, which I am not willing to do. Is there a way via the internet to look up case records?

@Curtis Mears normal speeding tickets don't end up on a criminal background report. Criminal/traffic is driving W/O license, suspended license, hit and run, reckless driving etc, do. Generally you can go to the county website and get access using the case number online. The most important information you found out is that your applicant is most likely lying to you and will again.

@Curtis Mears an alternative would be, have him prove it to you that they are only traffic tickets. If he can prove it great! If he can't then you know it's BS. But like @Bjorn Ahlblad mentioned generally you can go to the county website and either search by name or case #.

@Curtis Mears I had a applicant's traffic ticket show up on my criminal background check in the past.  I called the courts and verified what it was.  I think this was from North Carolina.
