Tenant wants a notice to quit to obtain emergency hearing
My tenant was receiving workers compensation checks and I'm not sure of the exact situation but for some reason the checks stopped. Since the courts are all backed up right now his attorney said that if he has a letter from me stating eviction will be filed by the 20th he can get an emergency court hearing. He asked me if I could do this and I'm not sure what to do. He did pay me for the month and there is an electronic record of that so it would technically be a lie. Just wanted to see what other landlords would do in this situation.

Rent is paid, I would not serve notice of non-payment. That is fraud. Tenants have asked me to do this in the past I reply, empathetically, sorry I can not do this. It is illegal.
Once rent is late and past the grace period (in my lease 0 days), I will send a 3-day notice. They can use that to get whatever assistance they need. I will not compromise my integrity.
