Tenant won't change address

I have a tenant who moved out of my house in MAY 2020. She is STILL getting packages there. The first couple months were understandable because so many shipments were delayed due to covid. But now it has been 7 months and it is still happening. She thinks it is no big deal and just goes to the house to get them as soon as she sees one has been delivered, without even checking with the new tenant first. (Basically trespassing.) My new tenants are at their wits' end, as they should be. They are paying for the use of the house, and never agreed to be her personal mailman.

USPS seems to have all been forwarded to her new address. Amazon, Fedex and UPS are not. Suggestions? I know I cant change her delivery address with these companies bc I'm not her. The new tenants can't refuse the deliveries bc they are just left on the porch. I don't want my new tenant to have to go out of their way to return the packages to sender all the time. I don't think they can just trash them? How do i keep her away from the house so she isn't bothering my new tenants just showing up like that? Anyone ever seen this??

Thanks

Replied

I actually just bought a home in July. The previous owner lived here but rented out 3 of the 4 rooms. 8 months since we closed and I still get packages and mail DAILY...I honestly get more for all of them then I do our household members. I started by "return to sender" but I got sooooo sick of that. I then took it all in a brown bag to her realtor (TWICE I filled a full sack) then I got sick of that. I started throwing them away - I asked our mail carrier what to do and he said as long as I am not opening their mail that really there is no harm. With packages - I would tell your tenant to bring them all inside if they can and just stop leaving them on the porch. After a few of them not being able to be retrieved she may change her address as she will be upset by the wasted money. Tell them to not open them but save them. Then take them to a UPS store and say, no one is here by this name and walk out. Don't give them a chance to say no. It has worked here so far I am getting less and less every week. But I feel their pain.
