Property Management for self managed properties

I'd like to get some feedback on how to structure a PM entity for self managed properties. I hired an assistant last month and was thinking about starting a separate PM company just to manage my own portfolio and have my assistant on payroll. I currently have a holding company and multiple LLC's, being a mixture of SFH's and commercial. It would be nice to hear from others with this similar situation and how you handled it.
