New Landlord- Screening/Applicant Question
Hi everyone. I will be renting out my first SFH and have multiple interested parties. There is an open house next weekend Jan 9-10. I won't be doing any private showings because of my schedule. Someone has already applied sight unseen and wants to move in "ASAP".
Should I process the application before the open house? If she meets all my qualifications should I grant her tenancy and cancel the open house? Just trying to get a feel for this situation. Don't want to get into any fair housing complaints and I also don't want to prevent anyone else from applying.

@Haley McLaughlin never rush your screening process; applicants who want to move in sight unseen are trying to get you to relax your screening and just approve them. They are hiding information that would disqualify them. Don't change your process and don't make exceptions. At least that's how we do it. All the best!
