Insurance Help with inherited houses

We inherited 4 houses from a trust due to a sudden death in the family.  We are trying to get them in our name then back into the trust.  But in the meantime we have to get landlord insurance.  We live in Florida and one of the houses has a old roof the insurance company does not want to cover the house unless we get a new roof. But we have to get insurance by the end of the month. Any advice or experience with this process.  Also what type of insurance should we get.  Thanks
