Property management company owes money and misconduct - issues

Hi,

Our Property management company in Indiana has done a lot of damage to our property due to neglect and misconduct. In addition the company owes us a lot of money.

We are unable to communicate with them to get our money back - they do not answer calls or emails.

I would love to get suggestions on how to deal with this matter.

Thank you very much!

Just curious here but what did they do that was so negligent, if we know what happened we may be able to give better advice.  My first priority would be to sever all business ties and contact your tenants to let them know that the previous company is fired and either you or your new pm will be the new point of contact and give them payment instructions.  Secondly you could report them to the agencies mentioned and they may be able to point you in the direction you would want to take for damages.  While I have mentioned people on this site are often too quick to point someone to an attorney this is one time I would say you need one on your side because they already have their own on retainer and you can't fight that yourself.  If they are indeed truly negligent you may be able to get the fees back in the suit so you might as well hire one.  Dollar amounts may play a role in this as well depending on if you will be in small claims court or not.
