Section 8 corrupt inspector
I invested in a SFH property in birmingham alabama, and the property has a pending lease agreement to be signed by the tenants. The pending case is due to section 8 clearing the house.
it's been 2 months and the information that i have received from the property management was the inspector was trying to get hired with the property management company under the table to expedite the section inspection faster. The property management company declined to hire and bribe the inspector and now my property is being held hostage (and i'm sure there's a bunch more houses in the area he is in charge of that are being delayed)
anybody else have experienced this? What are our options as the owners?

I find that hard to believe. I know every inspector & not a single one of them tolerates anything.
One in fact is former military that would shock me if his boots didn't still sit next to his bed.
Your issue has a very easy resolution. Simply call the Housing Authority & ask for your inspection report.
I would believe it didn't pass the inspection before I would believe one of the inspectors is trying to do something under the table. Especially since the FBI recently arrested an inspector for the city of Birmingham for under the table dealings. Everyone knows they are being watched.
If I'm wrong please update the post with the details. I find it hard to believe knowing the inspectors & how by the book they are with the condition requirements to pass a house. I failed an inspection last year because the oven wasn't level.
I've never been approached about anything under the table by an inspector with the hundreds I've been thru over the years.
I think your answer is in the inspection report.
