Laptop specifications for property management

For those managing properties, what's important to you when it comes to your laptop? Do you have memory or storage space minimums? I'm looking at MacBooks, and I imagine those would meet my needs well, but they can be pricey. For what I need, it looks like I can spend considerably less on a Chromebook. But I'd love to hear about the things I should consider here - including operating system compatibility with apps/software you use.

I keep a Chromebook in my car (because I run on PC/Android) insead of my laptop.

The risk of carrying a laptop with a harddrive is too big for me. I have data from all my businesses on the harddrive, personal information etc plus it was expensive.

My Chrombook was cheap, there is no data on it, all in the cloud; if it gets stolen I pull over at the next BestBuy and within 30 minutes I am working right where I had left of.
