Inheriting Section 8 Tenant - now what?
Looks like we are going to successfully close a deal with tenants in place. One unit has a long term Section 8 tenant. We have never done Section 8 so I am wondering what happens when we acquire the property. Does it trigger a new inspection? Do we have to file something to be on record with Section 8? Any info will help. I have just read the Section 8 Bible and in between laughing out loud, did learn a few things but not this item in particular.
Thanks in advance.

They are probably going to want proof of ownership, a copy of your DL and SS card, a bank account and routing number for direct deposit, and a copy of your lease that will need to be approved by them. Not sure if you will need a new inspection, but those aren't a big deal. They are mostly looking for working smoke detectors and obvious repairs.
