Background check per each adult applicant?

should I ask for an individual background check per adult applicant that will be on the lease? Or just one of the adult applicants? I don’t want this to be unnecessarily burdensome for applicants. Sometimes there’s up to 3 adults in a unit - is it unreasonable to ask for a Cozy report from each of the three?

Replied

We only run credit for the person with the stronger income, the main bread winner.

What I found doing this for over a decade now is that credits or usually similar between spouses, not the same, but someone who is financially responsible ususally does not marry someone who is completely irresposnsible (my partens are an exception LOL).

We rent B/C+ class units, this may be different for D class...

If I have concerns we run the other person too in a second step.

I do not like renting to unrelated adults, that's another story.

While the credit report is our offical decision making tool, if you do this long enough you get better reading people - I would say 50% of my decision is made in the interview (but I would never admit that).
