Garden grove, CA (SFH) - building an adu AND jr adu within house

Johnny Wang
Posted

Good Morning BP!

I am in the process of buying a single family home in garden grove which has an oversize garage and an extra family room adjacent to the garage. I plan on converting the garage into an ADU and the small family room into a jr ADU room (All size appropriate). I was wondering if whether garden grove city allows this, and have you had any experiencing renting out the jr adu and main house without owner occupancy (after 1 year of owner occupancy)?

Thank you for your help!

True for regular ADU. Not true for JADU.
