Best way to getting a roommate ?

Got about a month left until I own my first property and living away from the rents. One of the biggest things I asked for my realtor to make sure he had on his list is a 2 full bath and 2 bedroom condo which he found for me. I want to start house hacking right off the bat. Anybody have any good ideas as to finding a roommate?

If you have the luxury to be picky, definitely be so.  Lots of random people on Craigslist and Facebook are quirky, have social and financial problems, and are difficult as roommates.  Screen them well.  Do a background check & check the credit score as well as court case history.  The credit score is a very good analogy of their overall responsibility.  Some may disagree, but I'll swear by it from 14+ years of experience.  It is worth spreading the word through friends and associates that you are looking for a roommate.  Find someone with a full time, out of the home job.  They won't be home as much and this means less tension, less wear on the property, less mess, and less utilities used, and they have sufficient income to enjoy their life and then still have leftover for rent.  Yes, paying rent is frequently not a top priority for those with lower credit scores; other non-essential expenses are a top priority.  So once again, finding someone with good credit shouldn't be underestimated.  Find someone clean and healthy, with no pets, and doesn't vape or smoke unless you personally are fine with this.  With a house hack like this, you can be as picky as you like without breaking laws.  Unless you are a special breed and can get along with anyone, screen well.
