What should I know before renting a room in my house?
I'm a first time home owner and I've done some updates on my home; about to upgrade the kitchen a little bit and my plan was to rent the house to military or small family when i move in Jan 2022. It's a 3/1 that I currently live in and am wondering if it would be a good idea (in the meantime) to rent one of the spare rooms out for a year. I've read the blogs about renting properties and screening potential renters, background checks, and lease agreements, etc. If it's a single room that I'll be renting out, are there any differences in this process that I should be aware of?

You should know that living with other people can be a real PITA and you better carefully consider the person before you rent them a room, because you're going to be sharing a lot of living space.
