What to do with metal stairs

I am buying a place with old carpet wrapped around metal stairs.  The metal is in good shape, secure and no wobble.  I am doing laminate/vinyl throughout the rest of the place, just not sure what to do with the stairs.

Google metal staircase or metal staircase railing. Lots of great ideas.

But yes, painting it black would be the cool and cheap thing to do. Remove carpet and wrap with vinyl flooring.
