Water heater w/ Chimney or Tankless
HI BP,
I have a 1 year old water heater and have to repair my chimney costs $5,000. I have two options:
- 1. Repair the chimney for $5,000 and keep the existing water heater
- or
- 2. Replace the water heater with a tankless for $3,200 and then pay to have a roofing company remove the chimney neck and roof over the chimney (waiting on quote)
What's everyone's thoughts?
Thanks!

What about direct vent to outside or cheaper electric water heater?
